Gurah tree is a plant found in the forests of Malaysia. The tree is also believed to exist in countries other ASEAN. The scientific name Apium indicum Willd. Now converted to Excoecaria indica.
Excoecaria indica, is a mangrove species belonging to the genus Excoecaria of the family Euphorbiaceae. Its fruits and seeds are very poisonous and are used as a fish poison. A decoction of the root bark possesses purgative and emetic properties and is said to be used in insanity and hydrophobia.
